Yes, you can do it, but for that to happen, you need to know the signs. The signs indicate that someone is a narcissist.

If you recognize such a person in your life, the best thing to do is to distance yourself, remember that. Regardless if it is someone very close to you, a narcissist can never change.

5 Clear Signs That Someone is a Narcissist

#1 Narcissists Are Persuasive and Charismatic

You should know that narcissists can be extraordinarily persuasive and charismatic. You see, if they are interested in you and what you can offer, they will do their best to make you feel wanted, special, and needed.

However, you should remember that they do this only for their gratification. Once a narcissist loses interest in you, they might leave you without even giving it a second thought.

You see, this usually happened after they get bored or they have gotten what they wanted from you. These people may be extremely friendly and engaging as long as you are fulfilling the things they want or need.

#2 Narcissists Are Manipulative

Narcissists go all the way to that point that they use their colleague, significant other, friend, child, or parent to meet self-serving needs, cover up their flaws, or fulfill unrealized dreams.

Narcissists will manipulate by using guilt. Also, they will expect you to make unreasonable sacrifices.

#3 They Always Need to Be the Center of Attention

This is something they desperately need; it is not just a wish for them. Being the center of attention means everything to them. They are usually the one who dominates the conversation, all they want to talk is themselves and their accomplishments.

Often, they exaggerate everything. If you notice these traits when someone is speaking, you should know that you are dealing with a narcissist.

#4 Narcissists Spread Negative Energy All the Time

They love it when they arose and spread negative energy and emotions. They do it to feel powerful, keep you off-balance and insecure, and they also do it to gain attention.

The narcissist is easily upset in case of inattentiveness. They will hate you if you disagree with what they think and if you do not live up to their unrealistically high expectations.

They are sensitive to criticism, and they usually respond with cold detachment or heated arguments.  They are often fast to blame you, judge, ridicule, or criticize. Also, some of them are emotionally abusive.

They do their best to make you feel inferior, and that is how they boost their ego so they will feel better about themselves.

#5 Narcissists Use Other People Around Them

They use other people without sensitivity or consideration. Narcissists might borrow money or items without returning the debt.  They ignore all their obligations, and they break promises. Usually, they show no remorse, in their head, they are the real victim.

All people around them are the ones to blame. So, now that you know the signs of a narcissist, can you tell if someone around you is one?
