How To Calm A Crying Baby By Pressing These 7 Points Of Their Feet

Recently, the Western world got to know about reflexology which is an ancient Chinese practice. It’s a natural treatment for many illnesses that do not include any instruments. Interestingly, the treatment can calm down fussy babies.

Babies are unable to tell what is going on, so they use crying to express their feelings of pain or dissatisfaction. However, with the help of reflexology, one can easily find out the problem and find a solution as well.

Reflexology Guide

Since babies are more receptive to touch they seem more responsive to reflexology than adults. When you have a crying baby, you hold them and rub their back, so this practice is a great tool to use.

How does this practice work? Well, you apply pressure on specific spots on the body, and this can treat many problems. In the picture, you can see the connection between babies’ feet and other parts of the body.

1. Teeth or Head

If your baby has a problem with the head or teeth, you can treat them by working on the tips of the toes. In this way, you can ease the pain that may be a result of teething or ear infection.

2. Sinuses

The center of the toes is the location that affects the sinuses. So, when you apply pressure in this area, you can decrease many sinus issues like a running nose or breathing issues.

Even though this is not a remedy for colds, you can ease the symptoms, and your baby will stop crying.

3. Chest

The top of the feet above the arch is linked to the chest. When you massage this area, you will ease chest congestion. Also, this is an excellent treatment for chronic coughs and colds that lead to a buildup of phlegm.

It is said that reflexology helps in many forms of congestion.

4. Solar Plexus

This is a group of nerves located between the lungs and the abdomen. It is not easy to find out what causes this pain because there are distinct nerve endings. Anyway, you can treat this pain by massaging the arch area of the foot.

5. Lower and Upper Stomach

When you massage the arch of the foot, you can treat digestive issues like bowel obstruction or heartburn because this area is connected to the upper stomach.

And, when you massage the lower half of the arch, you can treat constipation as well as bloating because this area is connected to the lower stomach.

6. Pelvis

If you want to relieve pain in the pelvis, you should massage the heel of your baby. This way you ease the postural issues and the muscle tightness.

Finally, keep in mind that this practice helps just with some types of pain. This is not a remedy, and if your baby has a severe health issue, do not use this instead of proper medical care.

Remember, although this treatment is good for some babies, it doesn’t necessarily mean that it will be beneficial for your baby as well. Reflexology relaxes the baby and calms the pain just for a while.
